Has a public swimming pool, playground, baseball diamond, Victorian style garden, bandstand, drinking fountain, and many large open grassy areas. Monuments to Father Patrick Morris and Shanawdithit.

Bannerman Park hosts the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival (early August) and St. John's Peace-a-Chord (starting in 1985.) It's the finishing location for the annual Tely 10 semi-marathon.
