For a spa hotel I expected a lot more. When I stay at a hotel that claims to be 4 stars, I expect the rooms to be better than my own bedroom and the spa to better than my local council swimming pool

It's a bit like an expensive Travelodge. A bit tatty. One towel in a double room.
